Ok, something is clearly wrong. Every day's puzzle is getting its contents from puzzle #1. I'm on it.
In the meantime if you just want to play, you can go to http://goto.ucsd.edu/~mstepp/cryptoquip/quotes/cryptodb.php?index=??? and replace the ??? with a number. I think the most recent puzzles are around number 1980 or so.
